I just got a Nikon D40x Digital SLR. I like it a lot and it takes really high quality photos. Now I know this is kind of a professional camera because it is an SLR, so I would like to know what features it has to offer to make my photos even better in certain conditions.

I heard about ISO. I kind of know what that is but I would like to know more functions like ISO on my SLR. There are so many dials and functions on the menus. I am afraid that I am not taking full advantage of my SLR.

So please respond back to this question on what other features (like ISO) that my camera has to offer.

It’s a fine camera. I was a Nikon user myself for years.

Anyway, what you need to do is enroll in photography course at your local community college. If you don’t, you will not use this camera to its full potential. What many newbies do is “trials and errors”–they don’t know why some photos come out nice, and the rest do not. You need to be able to control the camera. AUTO mode is nice–but there are times you need to override it.

No disrespect intended. We all have to learn it the right way because you’d do the same thing if you bought yourself a piano–you must take proper lessons to do well.
