How did you attach the quick release mount to the bottom rail?
@cockeyedproductions This page may have moved or is no longer available. Please try one of the following: Gimme another link please.
Buy a modded version of this rig on ebay if you don’t have time to DIY. Cool swinging boom-arm attachment for your monitor on it too:

i need to stop lagging and make some of these diys, the red rock man cams and stuff are so expensive for what you get
@nahhooh avoid shallow dof then.
If you want it lighter, just use aluminum.
That’s really awesome dude. Great job! Really looks professional.
@paridisegrowth quick release plate
That Long, galvanized metal thing is called Unistrut.
I’ve had some bad times trying to put one of these together, for $13 more you can get yourself a Cam Caddie off Amazon, It has a superior design and can hold everything shown in this video.
This is pretty cool but i wouldn’t trust myself to make a quality steadycam. I recently received my new Cam Caddie Scorpion and it’s been extremely helpful. I can mount lights to it for late night skating and mics if I want to. It’s very sturdy and light weight I highly recommend it.
@paridisegrowth probably a 1/4 inch bolt
where did you get that rail?
@boni46 its very very heavy, i just got the parts to build one and its probably around 12 pounds or more
@nahhooh u use a high fstop so u have a large depth of field
autofocus is not for professional movie shooting its just a small fix for those that want to film at home their kid`s birthday and stuff like that
Thanks for sharing. Looks heavy? Any updates on this model?
how heavy is it? (just the rig)
nice.
what did you use for the extra hot shoe mounts for the light and the mic? im curious what kind of adaptors are those.
@nahhooh no DSLR has a proper autofocus in video mode…not even my 5D II. use manuel focus…more fun for filming anyway
@nahhooh You would be surprised. DSLRs are getting very good with high iso speed.
@1MinDLesS1 Then image will be dark. :S
@nahhooh use an aperture f/8 or higher. More will be in focus.
I love this video!!! Thanks for talking about the parts individually!
you are using a 10 foot section of “UNI-STRUT”
UniStrut is a electrical contractor construction material
for hanging a wide variety of lighting etc as senn in your local High School GYM-
UniStrut comes in shalloww & deep this here looks like shallow type – it can be found at LOWE’s or Home Dept-
